The objective of using Tactical MI is to build on the successes you’ve achieved through the use of Operational MI; to really start to optimize your field operations and ensure that the productivity of your field staff is maximized.
Tactical MI is about being pro-active not simply reactive; identifying issues and fixing them before they become endemic and cause major downtime. It’s about looking beyond devices to groups of devices and users, looking for common causes of failures or common patterns of behavior.
Using Tactical MI you can perform preventative triage and more effectively plan resource allocation, for example spotting a memory leak and implementing an out of hours device reboot throughout the population as a temporary measure to eliminate the downtime caused and calls to the helpdesk until an application patch is ready; or looking at the device utilization analytics and working out that by remotely repurposing devices after the day shift, they can be used for a different function on the night shift, eliminating the need to purchase or rent new devices.
Tactical MI is about analysing historic data and blended analytics, enabling you to review and improve on many areas of you mobile deployment including: battery charging and discharging patterns, network signal analysis, memory usage and device utilization.
