B2M Solutions is delighted to announce the introduction of mprodigy 1.5 which includes a range of significant updates based upon input from both customers and partners.
Julie Purves, MD of B2M Solutions explains, “These latest developments are designed to add greater control and flexibility to the management and operation of a mobile enterprise system. We are extremely grateful to our customers and partners for their continued support of mprodigy and their enthusiasm in helping us to make these substantial improvements.”
The major enhancements to mprodigy 1.5 include:
- Incident Tracking: The Supplier Management module has been significantly extended; it now allows device incidents (hardware or software) to be tracked through to the point of resolution. Detailed information on the nature of the failure and the resultant “fix” are provided, allowing analysis to be done on failure rates, types of failure and support / repair processes across the organisation – this can be filtered in many different ways (for example by location, by device type or by groups of mobile users) to give multiple views on the available data.
The Incident Tracking feature allows you to pinpoint, for example, device modules that are failing frequently in the field and to ensure that this does not become an endemic problem. It also allows you to ensure that devices that are going through the support / repair process are dealt with in a timely manner. Detailed management reports are available to assist with regular review of the support process and to drill down on specific issues.
- Enhanced support for field-based operations: mprodigy has always supported remote actions on a device over any network type (GPRS, Wireless LAN and LAN). However, previously our customers had required software deployment to the devices to take place when the device had returned to a wireless or fixed LAN, such as a depot or office base. Now, as GPRS costs are reducing and more mobile workers are totally field based, mprodigy field support has been extended so that it is also possible to manage software deployment over any network type, including GPRS. The ability to deploy over GPRS means that the device user does not need to return to a depot or office in order to receive the latest updates. Furthermore, scheduling of the deployment can occur at a time that does not interrupt normal daily operation.
- Support for multiple regions and time-zones: mprodigy now provides support for multiple time zones and regions, allowing devices to be deployed over many countries and / or continents whilst being managed from different regions.
- Additional device remote controls: New features to remotely control devices from the Support Centre include remote program execution on a device and remote device clear down (“device wipe”). These features are added to the many remote control actions that were already available within mprodigy.
- Support for new device types: The ability to automatically update your mprodigy system to support new device types as they are introduced is now available. This makes it easy to add new generation devices (from different device manufacturers if you wish) to your mobile enterprise system.
- Wireless Security: This latest version now has additional wireless networks security features including support for enhanced and standards-based wireless security mechanisms such as WPA-PSK
Julie adds, “These are enhancements to what is already a comprehensive and robust mobile management system. We are confident that these additional capabilities will provide considerable value to our customers and enable them to extend their mobile enterprises in new and exciting ways.”
